Venue Coordinator vs. Wedding Planner

Recently, we came across an article comparing On-Site Venue Coordinators to Event Planners. To summarize, they got it totally wrong, at least for us! The blog went on to state that venue coordinators responsibilities are to assist the customer with venue related details outlined in your contract. On the flip side, the article talked about event planners really being the ones who are focused on the customer and all the details.

Our advice is to check with your venue before you make a decision about hiring an event planner. Make sure you ask questions so you have a clear understanding of what the venue coordinator will do for you and what she/he won’t. If the venue coordinator doesn’t cover all aspects of your special event, and you think you will need the extra help, it might be a good idea to hire an event planner.
